Description
These women, in federal period dress, are probably the hospitality committee of the Knox Memorial Association.
Founded by the General Henry Knox Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, this group was instrumental in procuring funds and erecting Montpelier, a replica of the Thomaston mansion built by General Henry Knox in 1794 and razed in 1871.
They are pictured in front of the replica at its dedication on July 25, 1931.
